ELECTION TO RETURN TO SOCIAL
SECURITY
Beginning 1/1/00, members of the clergy will receive a two-year
period to rescind their otherwise irrevocable decision not to be covered by social
security. They must file Form 2031 by April 15, 2002 or later if an extension is
filed. Clergy should consult with their CPA to determine the tax consequences of
this decision.
